Elaine flew out to see us this weekend (April 24-27th.) We had the best time, and took her to some of Seattle's hang out spots.. including Pikes Place Market, past the Space Needle and Queen Ann neighbourhoods, through Finney Ridge, Wallingford, Ballard.. with a stop at Red Mill Burger on Saturday. Milo couldn't get enough of our milkshakes, even more so as a few days before, he learnt to drink with a straw. We went to church and hit the West Seattle beaches on Sunday, with a stop at the famous Cafe Nouveau.. where we sampled their famous twice baked Almond Crossiants (James had a twice baked chocolate one.) Elaine was very impressed. Milo had a great time playing in the sand at the deserted part of Lincoln park beach on Sunday afternoon, while James looked for sea creatures as the tide was really low. On Monday we got some coffee and Banana Bread at Cafe Ladro.. Milo was shouting "Cake" while waiting to share Elaine's banana bread! We then went on to Gasworks park, which was freezing and windy.. then did a little car tour, and stopped at a kids play park in Madison Park, then drove through Medrona via Lake Washington Blvd.. then onto the floating bridge and back. And it was back to Lincoln park beach again for lunch as Milo would not stop saying "Sandpit" as we were driving around. We stopped off at Cafe Nouveau again to get a lunch of Ham and Mushroom pizza, a roast beef and brusheta sandwich, three cheese quiche and one more twice baked crossiant! Elaine and I took a turn along the beach after lunch. Later James made us an Asparagus stir-fry for dinner before he had to leave to school.
Milo loved having his "Auntie Eyaii" stay, and bonded with her fast. He played with her hair in the car and loved copying words she said, like "Exactly" "Definitely" & "Expensive" When we would get in from being out, he would order her to take her "Coat off" and "shoes off" and "Sit!"
We will miss you Elaine.. thank you so much for coming!

Easter Day
Yesterday we had a jam packed Easter Sunday. We celebrated Christ's resurrection at our church. Then went for a delicious brunch at Dana & Fred's. The quiches that Fred made were mouth watering. From there we drove to Gig Harbor to Lynn & Vin's to meet up with the rest of the family. As it was raining all day, Brittany arranged Milo's egg hunt in the library, and Milo had a great time collecting them all. He totalled about $14.50 in change from the eggs! We then had a delicious dinner of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet homemade bread rolls, deviled eggs, salad, and a strawberry mousse cake. As soon as I said the word "Cake" to Milo, he couldn't get off the couch quick enough. It was a wonderful day.
